Visas
For Applicants living outside the U.S.
International students must obtain a visa that allows study in the USA. An I-20 form is provided to admitted students who apply for the F-1 visa.
If you are living outside the U.S. and need to apply for a student visa, please submit TU’s Confirm Financial Resources form and all required financial documents. After all documentation is received, TU’s SEVIS Compliance Officer will then issue you either an I-20 or a DS-2019, depending on your particular circumstance and requirements. This document will contain the information you need to schedule a visa appointment. You must have the original document to present to the visa officer at your visa appointment.
For a Transfer Student living in the U.S.
If you are living in the U.S., have a valid I-20 active at another U.S. institution, and wish to transfer the SEVIS record to The University of Tulsa, you will need to complete TU’s SEVIS Transfer form. You will need to work with your current school to transfer your valid I-20 to TU and complete any additional paperwork your current school may require.
If you have any questions, please email tuiss@utulsa.edu.
For families living in the U.S. with other types of visas
It is the student’s responsibility to ensure the current visa allows university study or to inform International Student & Scholar Services immediately of any plan to apply for an F-1 visa.
