The personal classroom experience helps you excel in the classroom. Also, The University of Tulsa College of Law has a great networking program that helps you network with several firms and attorneys in the Tulsa area as well as different states. Why You Chose UTulsa Law: Being a generational Texan, I wanted to pick a law school that felt similar to home, but still different enough to offer new life experiences. My time in Tulsa so far has illustrated the typical values you think of when you think of Texas. Everyone here is friendly, down-to-earth, and eager to help when someone is in need. The generous scholarship opportunities offered, small class sizes, and close proximity to Texas were appealing benefits when deciding what law school I should attend, but what truly solidified my decision was the people I met who composed the student body. When meeting individuals who currently attended the law school, it was obvious to me that they were not only happy at UTulsa Law, but that they genuinely cared about and cherished the relationships they had formulated with their classmates. Now that I am a current student, I can attest that the friends I have made here have made my law school experience incredibly special and even more worthwhile. I am proud to attend UTulsa and feel fortunate I get to surround myself with people who truly care about people.

Hometown: Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, (by way of Durango, Colorado)
Undergrad Institution: University of Oklahoma
Undergrad Program: Sociology and Criminology, with a minor in History
Law Activities: I am an Associate Editor for Tulsa Law Review, a Teaching Assistant, and a Law Student Ambassador.
Professional Experience: I was a Police Officer in Durango, CO for more than six years between graduating from OU and starting at Tulsa Law. I am also a Law Clerk for Sherwood and Robert, which is a diverse legal practice in Downtown Tulsa.
Why Tulsa Law: I grew up in the Tulsa area, so I was already familiar with UTulsa’s reputation as a premier academic university. When I decided I wanted to go to law school, Tulsa Law was on my short list from the start. I loved that Tulsa Law had a spring start option, because between my wife’s and my schedule, a fall start would have been incredibly difficult to do. Besides just the school, I was excited for the opportunity to live in Tulsa. Tulsa is a great mid-sized city with plenty of amenities, but without the traffic and other problems of big cities.
