About

Cherlynn Hill, Ph.D., is a clinical assistant professor of nursing at the Oxley College of Health and Natural Sciences at The University of Tulsa, specializing in mental health nursing. She earned her Ph.D. in nursing science with high honors from Oklahoma City University and is board-certified as a psychiatric mental health nurse and faith community nurse. Her clinical background spans pediatric, adolescent and adult psychiatric care focused on sexual trauma and rehabilitation, with leadership experience as an administrative supervisor.

Hill’s scholarly interests center on reducing clinical practicum anxiety among nursing students. She is deeply committed to creating a comfortable and supportive learning environment that promotes student growth, confidence and academic success.

She currently serves as the immediate past president of Sigma Theta Tau’s Zeta-Delta Chapter-at-Large and director of the UTulsa BSN Ambassador Society. Hill holds memberships in several professional and academic organizations, including Sigma Theta Tau International, Phi Kappa Phi, Blue Key Honor Society, Sigma Alpha Pi and Phi Theta Kappa, as well as the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, American Nurses Association, Oklahoma Nurses Association and the Oklahoma Medical Reserve Corps.
