Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour evidence-based course. The program teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders. This training will give you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care.
At the end of the 8-hour training, you will receive a Mental Health First Aid certification that is good for three years. The cost of the training is $18.95 and The University of Tulsa has agreed to cover the cost for faculty and staff.
