Mental Health First Aid is an eight-hour evidence-based course for UTulsa faculty and staff. The program teaches participants how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders. This training teaches skills for providing initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care.
At the end of the 8-hour training, participants receive a Mental Health First Aid certification that is good for three years.
