Meet your 2022 TU Homecoming queen and king

homecoming king and queen walking together off the football fieldThe University of Tulsa Student Association, in partnership with the TU Alumni Association, crowned the 2002 Homecoming king and queen during halftime at the Golden Hurricane football game Saturday, Oct. 29. The winners, as voted on by the student body, are:

Reema Moussa, a biology senior from Wichita, Kansas, representing TU’s Peer Mentors and Ryan Danley, a chemical engineering senior from Edmond, Oklahoma, representing the University Ambassadors.

“When I chose The University of Tulsa four years ago, I couldn’t have predicted the impact that this choice was going to have on my life. TU is the place that gave me the opportunity to follow my dreams, that pushed me to become a better version of myself, and that encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone. I have fallen in love with TU over my past three years here, and because of this, I exemplify school spirit in everything that I do. I am a Peer Mentor because I want to be a person that can help new students fall in love with TU, just like I did. I am a University Ambassador, taking pride in giving prospective students a glimpse into not only our beautiful campus, but the genuinely welcoming community that TU has to offer. I am the director of campus relations for Student Association because I am passionate about bridging the gaps on our campus and making sure that all students feel included. I also take my passion for TU with me when I leave campus, representing our university in the best way in programs such as Global Medical Brigades and at the American Chemical Society Conference. I invest so much time into our campus organizations and community because I want to help make TU even better for future students, and because I want to give back to the place that has helped me create my own future.” – Reema Moussa

“My involvement at TU has contained the purpose of enhancing a student’s TU experience at every level of their collegiate career. As vice president of University Ambassadors, I help admissions plan the events where TU students are first exposed to school spirit. As a Peer Mentor, I am one of the first friends for new students, demonstrating my TU pride during

arguably the most critical time for a student. As president of my fraternity, I am heavily involved in community outreach including recruitment, campus involvement, community service and alumni relations. As a member of Future Alumni Council, I have had the opportunity to express my ongoing TU school spirit for those far beyond graduation. I support these organizations because TU has invested so much in me, and my motivation is to give others the experience that I was gifted with. Therefore, I do not simply evaluate my school spirit by the amount of work I put into organizations or the number of football games I attend. The most profound testimony to my TU school spirit is my contagious experience, displayed through meaningful connections across campus. I see school spirit only having true value if it is shared with others and beyond myself. I have empowered and encouraged the classes below me to invest in TU to ensure an even better experience for future students. This is what I believe dictates my commitment – the investment that will go on to perpetuate TU school spirit far beyond my own time at TU.” – Ryan Danley
