4 Tulsa teams earn Academic Excellence Award in The American

The University of Tulsa had four teams earn the American Athletic Conference’s Team Academic Excellence Award for the 2021-22 academic year.

TU Athletic logo The four Tulsa teams recognized with the Academic Excellence Award are women’s indoor track & field and women’s outdoor track & field (3.68 GPA), men’s tennis (3.63 GPA) and men’s soccer (3.38 GPA).

The Team Academic Excellence Award is awarded to the institution in each AAC-sponsored sport with the highest cumulative grade-point average for the year. The Golden Hurricane was second only to Cincinnati’s 10 teams honored this season, and Memphis was the only other school to have more than one team recognized with the academic excellence award.
