TU School of Music faculty have been hard at work, connecting with area students and teachers and spreading the word about the many exciting developments and bright future of the program. This year, our choral ensembles, faculty wind quintet, and individual faculty members visited Bartlesville High School, Bixby High School, Broken Arrow High School, Collinsville High School, Deer Creek High School, Edison High School, Holland Hall, Jenks High School, Owasso High School, Sand Springs High School, Sapulpa High School, Skiatook High School, Tulsa Community College, and Union High School. And the list is still growing.
More high school seniors and college transfer students auditioned to be a part of the School of Music beginning in 2023-24 than have in years. The school hosted three audition days during the spring semester and numerous additional students set up separate times or submitted recorded audition materials for consideration. In all, our faculty heard auditions from more than 100 students.
Thanks to our personal connections with these recruits and generous financial support, student commitments to attend TU are already high. We are thrilled and encouraged by these results, and the faculty are already back on the road connecting with future students and scheduling more recruiting visits for next academic year.
We can’t wait to welcome the next generation of TU musicians and fans in the fall!
