The University of Tulsa has announced that the Department of Physics & Engineering Physics has returned to the College of Engineering & Computer Science. This move aligns with UTulsa’s mission in providing a collaborative space of innovation, providing students a robust and comprehensive educational experience.

“This reunification strengthens our commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and academic excellence,” said College of Engineering & Computer Science Dean Andreas A. Polycarpou, Ph.D. “Physics coursework provides a critical foundation for engineering and technology, and we are pleased to have the department back under our college umbrella after a brief stint in the Oxley College of Health & Natural Sciences.”
“Bringing the Department of Physics & Engineering Physics back to the College of Engineering & Computer Science puts our students and faculty shoulder to shoulder with engineers. It also streamlines capstone designs and research partnerships,” said Chair of Physics & Physics Engineering Sanwu Wang, Ph.D. “We’re excited to build joint courses and projects that connect fundamental physics with real-world engineering.”
The College of Engineering & Computer Science is committed to supporting its students with faculty expertise, state-of-the-art facilities and integrated learning experiences that bridge fundamental physics and engineering with practical applications.
