As we begin a new academic year at The University of Tulsa, I find myself reflecting on the many seasons I’ve experienced here over the past 23 years. Each fall brings fresh opportunities for growth, discovery and impact, and this year is no exception.
The summer months were an active time at the Collins College of Business. Our business camps introduced high school students to fields such as energy, entrepreneurship, personal finance and forensic accounting, sparking early curiosity about the role business plays in society. At the same time, our own students were making their mark across the country through internships and professional opportunities. From finance firms to energy companies and tech startups, they were gaining invaluable experience, building networks and preparing to enter the job market with confidence. Many of our students secure positions even before graduation, a testament to their talent and the strong reputation of our CCB programs.
I am also encouraged by the increasingly rich tapestry of our students’ and faculty backgrounds, which enriches our classrooms and strengthens our community. Students and faculty from a wide range of backgrounds bring fresh ideas and perspectives, ensuring that the Collins College of Business continues to prepare graduates ready to lead in an interconnected world.
Our faculty remain active as thought leaders, advancing research that informs practice, shapes policy and contributes to society. In the months ahead, you will see more examples of ideas that invite broader reflection and conversation. As a college, we aspire not only to educate but also to help shape the future of business thinking regionally and nationally.
This fall is also a time for celebration and community. I invite you to campus for Homecoming 2025 in October and to cheer on the Golden Hurricane as football season kicks off. Even more, I encourage you to connect with our students through mentoring, internships or sharing your expertise. Your engagement is a vital part of the learning experience and primes our graduates for meaningful careers.
Thank you for your support. Together, we are building a future that combines knowledge with purpose and achievement with impact.
