Dear alumni and friends,
Happy holidays from us here at the College of Engineering & Computer Science. We’re excited to share some recent news as we approach the end of the fall semester. Because of your support, all of these achievements are shared accomplishments.

This fall, we were honored to welcome Ali Erdemir, Ph.D., a distinguished professor of mechanical engineering and Halliburton Chair in Engineering Professor at Texas A&M University, as part of our Hulings Distinguished Lecture Series. His lecture offered fascinating insights into advanced materials and energy-efficient technologies in electric vehicles, sparking meaningful dialogue across our academic community.
Our faculty continue to lead groundbreaking research. Mahdi Khodayar, Ph.D., received a U.S. National Science Foundation grant to advance artificial intelligence for solar power integration, an innovative step toward creating more energy “prosumers” and a sustainable future. His research will lead to global impact in energy solutions. We’re also proud to share that our paraffin deposition project earned national recognition for its industry impact, showcasing the real-world applications of research happening at UTulsa.
In addition, the university has announced that the Department of Physics & Engineering Physics is returning to the College of Engineering & Computer Science, strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration among our faculty and an enriched educational experience for our students.
Thank you for being part of our journey. Your support and connection to the college continue to inspire us as we move forward together.
Warm regards,
Andreas A. Polycarpou
