New apparel line is created by and for UTulsa students

Brett Walsh is a sophomore studying finance with minors in energy and entrepreneurship.

Student. Sports manager. Entrepreneur. For University of Tulsa sophomore Brett Walsh, all are roles he divides his time between.

It’s the entrepreneur role that’s gaining notoriety. Walsh is co-founder and chief financial officer of Cane Clothing Solutions, which is a company offering apparel to other students.

“UTulsa has been an excellent environment for this kind of project,” said the finance major pursuing minors in energy and entrepreneurship. “Collins College of Business has given me a strong foundation in finance and entrepreneurship, but even beyond the classroom, the support from faculty, students, and organizations has been tremendous. Tulsa’s smaller size has created a powerful sense of community that wants students to succeed, and I’ve felt that every step of the way.”

Walsh, who plays a pivotal role in landing clients for Cane Clothing, and two other UTulsa students started Cane Clothing Solutions this year.

Bowen McCloud is pursuing a double major in economics and energy management.

“The most exciting part of leading Cane Clothing Solutions is the people I get to interact with,” said CEO and co-founder Bowen McCloud, who is pursuing a double major in economics and energy management on an accelerated track and expects to graduate in 2026. “From my partners to clients and our amazing support advisors, I am privileged to work with and for such impressive individuals.”

McCloud is the treasurer of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and is on the UTulsa men’s soccer team.

Paris Moua is a digital marketing and analytics junior. As the co-founder and chief creative officer of Cane Clothing Solutions, she leads the brand’s creative vision, making sure everything adheres to standards.

“My goals for Cane Clothing are to set the creative direction for social media, build and lead a creative team, drive engagement and community, align creative with sales strategies, and become known for a signature creative style,” she said.

Like Walsh, McCloud and Moua said UTulsa has prepared them well for this endeavor.

Paris Moua, co-founder and chief creative officer of Cane Clothing Solutions, is a digital marketing and analytics junior.

“Cane Clothing is a UTulsa student-founded company, so that speaks for itself,” said Moua, who has taken part in the Pathway to Sports Academy for three years in addition to freelance and contract creative work in and around Tulsa. “Along with connections, there are events and programs that are offered that help people network and gain insight into industries.”

Walsh, who is in the Pathway to Sports Academy with the softball team, is a JOLT fellow and is going to be inducted into Sigma Nu Tau, an honor society for proven entrepreneurs.
