The University of Tulsa is excited to announce a new, online Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.) degree that offers four, distinct specialization tracks. The program addition is in keeping with the School of Nursing’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and engaging students in innovative learning experiences, thereby preparing them for success in a rapidly evolving world.
“The M.S.N. degree is designed for the B.S.N.-prepared nurse aspiring to advance their career and secure a highly impactful leadership role within the nursing profession,” said Cassy Abbott Eng, director of online programs and associate dean of academic and student affairs in UTulsa’s Oxley College of Health & Natural Sciences. “When pursuing a master’s degree from the School of Nursing, students choose from one of the four specialty tracks – each created to meet the demands of the profession and in sync with societal trends. The M.S.N. degree was custom designed for the working professional nurse and can be completed in as little as one year due to the eight-week course carousel model.”
Fully accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), this new online master’s program emphasizes pathophysiology, health promotion, and pharmacology to prepare strong, clinically competent nurses. It is strategically constructed to encapsulate 18 foundational credit hours, nine specialty credit hours, and three disseminating credit hours via the climactic capstone course.
The program offers four specialty tracks through which students can pursue their preferred area of focus:
- Leadership & Innovation
- Education & Elevation
- Public Health Global Vision
- Informatics & Analytics
Prospective students may apply for admission through the Graduate School by submitting an application, supporting materials, and an application fee.
