This fall, 119 new students joined The University of Tulsa’s College of Law, forming one of the most academically accomplished incoming classes in the college’s history.

The incoming class set new records for academic achievement, earning the highest LSAT score percentiles – at the 75th, 50th and 25th levels – and the highest 25th percentile undergraduate grade-point average ever at UTulsa Law. The group is composed of 45% women, 25% first-generation college students and 29% nontraditional students, highlighting the variety in backgrounds and experiences.

The students represent 14 states, with 51% from Oklahoma and 49% other states, including Arkansas, California, Florida, New York and Texas. Two tribal nations, Cherokee and Fort Sill Apache, are represented among the new enrollees, who hail from 40 different undergraduate institutions.

Their paths to law school are as varied as their hometowns. The cohort includes physicians and other health care professionals, military veterans and former collegiate athletes, all bringing unique perspectives to the study of law. Collectively, they speak six languages in addition to English: Arabic, French, Japanese, Persian, Russian and Spanish.

“This year’s incoming class reflects the best of what UTulsa Law stands for – exceptional academic talent, diverse experiences and determination,” said Interim Dean Marc Roark. “They represent the future of the legal profession, and we’re proud to have them begin that journey here at UTulsa Law.”
