The University of Tulsa’s School of Cyber Studies is proud to announce that its cybersecurity program has been accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), a non-governmental accreditation organization for post-secondary programs in engineering, engineering technology, computing and natural sciences. This is the latest program in UTulsa’s College of Engineering & Computer Science accredited by ABET, further solidifying the college’s legacy in innovation.
ABET assures in its review that accredited programs meet its standards for a high-grade education. Graduating from these programs is the requirement to have a well-rounded technical foundation, capabilities in innovation and emerging awareness of safety needs for society. UTulsa’s cybersecurity program is the only cyber studies program in the state to receive this accreditation, setting itself apart with these features.
“Achieving ABET accreditation recognizes what we already know, UTulsa offers a world-class cybersecurity education. We are especially proud to be the first and only cyber program in Oklahoma or Texas to be ABET accredited,” said Tyler Moore, Ph.D., Tandy Endowed Chair in Cyber Security and Information Assurance.
“This accreditation affirms the strength of our curriculum and the excellence of our student outcomes,” said Daniel Crunkleton, Ph.D., J.D., associate dean of College of Engineering & Computer Science. “It reflects our commitment to prepare new alumni for impactful careers in the rapidly evolving tech landscape.”
