John M. Henshaw, Ph.D., is a professor of mechanical engineering and department chair. He specializes in materials science, the analysis of engineering failures, and the design and development of devices for persons with disabilities. He has published three books on science and technology written for a general audience through the Johns Hopkins University Press. Henshaw has received more than 20 awards for teaching excellence, including several national awards.
