The University of Tulsa’s Center for Global Engagement (CGE) recently hosted the annual Global Graduate Impact Award Ceremony, recognizing exceptional students who have embraced international education and created meaningful global impact through their academic journeys.
Eight outstanding seniors received the Global Graduate Impact Award, demonstrating extraordinary commitment to global engagement and academic excellence: Annaliese Stump (energy management), Meredith Miller (environmental policy), Alexa Miranda (energy management), Jenna Caudle (chemistry), Yug Shah (business information systems), Yinhua Yang (petroleum engineering), Najla Amini (political science), and Anastasia Govor (finance). Each honoree has exceled academically and leveraged their study abroad experiences to make significant contributions to the global community while representing UTulsa with distinction.
CGE also inaugurated the Faculty Champions for Global Engagement recognition program. Seven exceptional faculty members were honored for their transformative work in advancing international education: Akhtar Ali (biology), Nagu Daraboina (chemical engineering), Greg Gardner (athletic training), Elaine Jolly (accounting), Michael Mosher (political science), and Andrew Wood (history). Bruce Willis (Spanish) was named the Grand Champion for his dedication to global learning initiatives.
The ceremony also celebrated 45 adventurous students who participated in study abroad programs this academic year, embracing challenges and immersing themselves in diverse cultures. Additionally, CGE recognized 85 graduating international students, including exchange participants, whose rich cultural perspectives have profoundly enhanced UTulsa’s campus community and fostered an environment of global understanding.
“These experiences extend far beyond the classroom, shaping not just careers but entire worldviews,” Vice Provost of Global Engagement Vivian Wang said of the 2025 honorees.
The event underscored the university’s unwavering commitment to preparing students for leadership in an interconnected world through meaningful global engagement opportunities.
