Dear alumni and friends,
Faculty and students have returned from spring break, and we are energized to continue the important work taking place across the College of Engineering & Computer Science.
Among our students, exciting research is underway. Doctoral mechanical engineering student Bradford Kerst (B.S. ’18, M.S. ’20) is developing a robotic device to help patients improve head and neck control. Working with Professor Joshua Schultz, Kerst has launched the startup Auximotus and was selected for the National Science Foundation’s I-Corps program, which helps accelerate promising research toward real-world impact.
Our alumni also continue to make a lasting difference. The Gregory B. Bowles Foundation was established to honor the legacy of UTulsa mechanical engineering alumnus Greg Bowles, a pioneering energy executive whose vision for community impact continues to shape lives across Tulsa. Led by his brother Brian Bowles, the foundation supports underserved communities while honoring Greg’s wish to give back to UTulsa and other causes that help people when they need it most.
Looking ahead, we are excited to host the university’s second National Academy of Engineering member-led event on April 30, bringing together global leaders to discuss topics in subsurface engineering, energy and beyond. The event opens April 29 with a welcome banquet keynote from former H&P CEO John Lindsay, followed the next day by keynote speaker Chad Zamarin, CEO of Williams. We hope to see you there.
Thank you for your continued support.
Warm regards,
Andreas A. Polycarpou
