UTulsa associate professor recognized as AIChE Fellow

Ford, associate professor of chemical engineering at the University of Tulsa, was recently elected as a Fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). This prestigious honor, approved by the AIChE Board of Directors, acknowledges Ford’s exceptional professional achievements and her significant contributions to the field of chemical engineering. 

As a Fellow, Ford joins an elite group of professionals recognized for their distinguished career accomplishments and leadership in the industry. This accolade not only highlights her efforts with AIChE Student Chapters and Education Division but also reflects the high esteem in which her peers and colleagues hold her. “I am grateful for my colleagues who encouraged me and nominated me for Fellow. I would not be here without their guidance,” said Ford. 

“We are proud of Dr. Ford for being elected as a Fellow of AIChE. This recognition is a testament to her dedication, expertise, and the impactful contributions she has made to the field of chemical engineering. Her achievements inspire our community and exemplify the excellence we strive for at our institution,” said Andreas A. Polycarpou, James R. Sorem Inaugural Dean of UTulsa’s College of Engineering & Computer Science. 

While serving as AIChE Student Chapter Advisor, UTulsa’s team rolled to victory in the Chem-E-Car Competition. Her committee work includes Student Chapters Committee Executive Committee, Global Societal Initiatives Committee, Course Survey Committee Chair in the Education Division, and the American Society for Engineering Education/AIChE Summer School for Faculty Planning Committee.  Ford is on the Publications Board for Chemical Engineering Education and advises UTulsa’s Engineers Without Borders – USA chapter. She has chaired the Chemical Engineering Division of the American Society for Engineering Education.
