You are considered a transfer student if you have attended another university following high school graduation (not including classes taken during the summer immediately following high school graduation).

The University of Tulsa (UTulsa) seeks to recruit and admit talented transfer students of diverse backgrounds and experiences and is dedicated to providing them with collaborative and integrated learning experiences with clear curricular pathways to graduation. By fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment, UTulsa strives to intentionally connect transfer students to the university, its mission, and its values. UTulsa commits to supporting transfer students as they achieve their personal, academic, intellectual, and professional goals which prepares them to make positive contributions on campus, in the community, and the world.

How many of my credits will transfer?

  • Credit earned from regionally accredited colleges and universities is generally transferable if a grade of C or better has been earned in the course and if The University of Tulsa offers a comparable course.
  • Courses taken pass/fail are not transferable unless a grade of C or better can be documented.
  • Faculty policy determines which courses are applicable towards a chosen major.
  • The last 45 hours of the degree program must be completed at UTulsa.

Scholarships

The UTulsa Office of Admission is proud to award academic scholarships to students who have excelled in the classroom. Scholarship awards are typically based on a student’s grade point average, completed curriculum, and academic accomplishments.

The academic scholarships listed below cannot be stacked, but can be combined with need-based aid or outside scholarships. The University of Tulsa also offers need-based grants. Submission of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required for consideration. Information can be found on UTulsa’s Office of Financial Aid page.
