Research at the Collins College of Business is raising The University of Tulsa’s profile while addressing questions that matter in business and society. This year’s scholarly achievements reflect quality and relevance, with faculty publishing in the most respected journals in their disciplines.

Professor of Accounting Li Sun, Ph.D., has a paper accepted at “Review of Accounting Studies,” one of the top journals in the field. His study, examining the effects of a milestone securities class action lawsuit in China, reflects the kind of globally engaged, policy-relevant scholarship that broadens the reach of CCB research and underscores our strength in accounting.

Associate Professor of Business Analytics and Operations Management Kazim Topuz, Ph.D., co-authored a study published in the “Journal of Management Information Systems,” a leading journal in the discipline. The paper introduces MDscan, an explainable AI tool designed to help clinicians screen for mental disorders more effectively while also showing which indicators drive the model’s predictions. It is an excellent example of research that is technically sophisticated, socially meaningful and responsive to urgent real-world needs.
These achievements stand alongside other major faculty successes, including publications by Assistant Professor of Operations Management Titing Cui, Ph.D., in “Operations Research,” Assistant Professor of Management Shubha Sharma, Ph.D., in the “Journal of Applied Psychology,” Associate Professor of Business Information Systems Alan Chen, Ph.D., in the “Journal of the Association for Information Systems” and Professor of Marketing Brian Chabowski, Ph.D., in the “Journal of International Business Studies.”
Taken together, this work shows what research at CCB does best: It advances knowledge, informs practice, enriches teaching and strengthens the national and international reputation of UTulsa.
